The information below is set out to show example costs for systems. Actual site conditions and specification will decide the final price and all offers are subject to site survey. We fabricate a wide range of suitable gates for all market sectors.

If you have a field gate in good general condition, with solid posts or piers then you can automate it. If you have no gate or require new posts for example, we can undertake the work ourselves.

AAC's business is to select the most suitable drive unit for the site and entry and exit methods to suit the use of the site. This may appear straightforward but how do we let in the paperboy, postman, milk, rubbish collection, friends, the gardener... and let them out again? Covering the realities of use is where our surveyor's experience counts. All sites are subtly different because the owners and their requirements are all different.

From our long experience we know that field gates being timber will move during seasons. To overcome this we use high powered magnetic locks to give reliable locking even when the gates have moved due to damp or temperature.

Below are examples of basic systems - any optional extras may be added, our surveyor or office staff are able to gives prices.

Example 1 - Convenience system to keep the gate closed [existing gates]

Existing field gate in good condition

• Mains power provided to hanging posts
• Radio controls [2 off] for owner occupier
• Entry and exit pushbuttons for visitors
• Single safety beam*
• High powered magnetic lock
• Cross road duct to line with power at the gate
• Gate hold open switch

Example 2 - Convenience / security system to keep the gate closed, but restrict access at certain times

Existing field gate in good condition

• Mains power provided to hanging posts
• Radio controls [2 off] for owner occupier
• 7 day time clock controlled
• Entry and exit timeclock controlled pushbuttons for visitors
• Single safety beam*
• 2 off key-switches for keyholder access at any time

N.B. Whilst there are no current safety laws on automated gates in the UK , AAC along with other leading automation businesses advocate minimum levels of safety which is a single safety beam.

Planning consent required? Gates up to 1M high are normally exempt. Higher than 1M and it's always best to check with your local authority. Formal planning application drawings can be provided for a nominal fee.
